Grandma's Soul Food Kitchen

When my grandmother cooked, she would not measure. It was either a dash here or there, or a pinch of this or that. Below I have provided what I believe is the equivalent to her measurement.

Below are common cooking measurements when dealing with volume. For the most part, liquids are measured this way.

2 2/3 fluid ounces

1/2 cup =

8 tablespoons =

4 fluid ounces

3/4 cup =

12 tablespoons =

6 fluid ounces

1 cup =

16 tablespoons =

8 fluid ounces

1 pint =

2 cups =

32 tablespoons

1 quart =

2 pints =

4 cups

1 gallon =

4 quarts =

8 pints
